Shopping guides, written from our own price data

Figures on these pages come from the 2026-08-08 data snapshot.

Every guide here is built from the listings Dhundo has already read out of Pakistani online stores, not from a press release and not from an opinion about what things ought to cost. Each one states the date its numbers were computed, shows the sample they came from, and has a section saying what it cannot tell you. Where a guide quotes a price gap between two stores, that gap was found by matching titles across store tables and is reproducible from the same data.

Why these exist

A category page is a list. It answers "what is there?" and it answers it well, but it cannot answer "is this a good price?", because a list of prices with nothing to compare them against is just a list of prices. These guides are where the comparison lives.

The corpus behind them is 3,16,326 stored listings read from 124 Pakistani stores, 38,584 of which have been sorted into a category. That is what makes a sentence like "the midpoint phone listing costs Rs 15,490" possible to write honestly: it is a fact about a specific, countable, dated set of rows.

How to read a number in one of these guides

Three things travel with every figure. The sample it came from, because a midpoint over 600 listings is a different claim from a midpoint over six. The date it was computed, because a price read in June is not a price today. And the scope, which is always "what Dhundo has read" and never "what is on sale in Pakistan" - those are different sets, and only one of them is countable.

Where a guide quotes a band rather than a cheapest-and-dearest, that is deliberate. The extreme ends of a scraped price column are usually a spare part at one end and a bulk listing or a mis-parsed price at the other, so the tenth-to-ninetieth-percentile band describes the market and the extremes describe the scraper.

What these guides cannot tell you

They cannot tell you what a product costs right now. Every price here was read at some point in the past and the store can change it at any moment, which is why each guide carries a date and every product link goes to the store's own page.

They cannot tell you the cheapest price in Pakistan. They can tell you the cheapest price among the stores Dhundo has read, which is a smaller and more honest claim.
