Fitness and gym gear prices in Pakistan: what the data shows
Is that dumbbell set or pair of trainers a fair price, and how would you check?

Sports gear sits between the two kinds of category on this site. Some of it - a named treadmill, a specific power band, a branded protein - behaves like electronics, where a model name lets two listings be compared. Much of it behaves like fashion, where "gym gloves" or "resistance band" describes a shape rather than a product. This guide reads the category with that split in mind, anchored on 897 listings Dhundo has classified from 12 stores.
The shape of the market Dhundo can see
Across a sample of 612 sports listings, the midpoint price is Rs 1,377, and eight in ten sit between Rs 499 and Rs 17,024. That is a low-ticket band with a long tail: most of the category is small accessories and consumables, and the upper end is the occasional machine - a treadmill, an exercise cycle - that pulls the ceiling far above the typical item.
The bottom of the band is skipping ropes, grip pads, water bottles and single bands. Treat anything near it as an accessory rather than equipment until the listing proves otherwise. The middle is where the real gear sits, and the store beside the price is a better guide to what you are looking at than the rupee figure on its own.
Why the same name is often not the same product
In this sample, 4 items appeared in more than one store under matching titles, with a typical gap of 55.2%. That gap looks large, and most of it is not one store undercutting another - it is that a matching title in this category frequently is not a matching product.
"Adjustable dumbbell" covers a two-kilo novelty and a forty-kilo plate set. "Yoga mat" covers a paper-thin sheet and a cushioned professional mat. The words match; the products do not. Dhundo does not pretend otherwise, which is why this guide quotes the typical gap rather than parading the widest one as a saving you could count on.
The practical consequence is the same as in fashion: use the comparison to discover storefronts you had not considered, and to see the range, rather than to arbitrate between two prices for one item. Where a product does have a model - a named machine, a specific supplement - the comparison tightens and becomes a real price check.
What actually drives a price here
Weight and material do most of the work on equipment. A cast-iron plate and a vinyl-coated one at the same nominal weight are different products at different prices, and the difference is in the description rather than a field. On apparel and footwear inside the category, brand and genuineness drive the price the way they do in fashion.
Bulk is the second driver, and it is easy to miss. A price that looks low may be for a single band where the comparison item was a set of five, or for a five-kilo weight where the other listing was ten. The unit is in the title, and reading it is the difference between a real comparison and a false one.
Using the category page well
The sports category page lists what Dhundo has classified, most confidently classified first, with the store beside each price. Use it to see which storefronts stock the kind of gear you want; the specialist fitness stores in that list are the part a general search result will not hand you.
Then search the specific item, with the weight, size or model in the query. A search reaches stores the category page has never surfaced, and in a long-tail category like this one, plenty of the real equipment has not been searched for yet and so has not entered the classified set.
What the listed price leaves out
Shipping weight is the cost this category hides most often. A set of weights or a machine is heavy, and delivery on heavy items is not in the listing price - a cheaper plate set from a store that charges by weight can arrive dearer than a costlier one that ships flat.
Assembly and durability are the other two. A cheap bench that needs building and a sturdier one that arrives ready are not the same purchase at the same rupee figure, and a low-priced band that perishes in a month is not cheaper than one that lasts a year. None of that is in a price.
Dhundo reads the listing, not the loading dock or the gym floor. So the rule for this category is the fashion rule with weights on top: use the comparison to find the storefronts and the range, then choose on shipping terms and what the description actually says the item is. What this guide cannot tell you
It cannot tell you whether two listings are the same piece of equipment. Title matching is the only tool on scraped listings, and for loose category names like "resistance band" it is a weak one - which is why no single biggest saving is quoted here.
It cannot tell you about weight, material or build quality. Those decide whether a piece of gear was worth buying, and no price dataset contains them; they live in the description and the reviews.
It cannot tell you delivery cost on heavy items or what is in stock. Prices are read from listings; shipping and availability are settled at the store's checkout. Figures here were computed 2026-06-19.
Common questions
- Why is the price gap between stores so wide for sports gear?
- Mostly because the products are not really the same. A matching title like "adjustable dumbbell" or "yoga mat" can describe items that differ by weight, material and quality, so the measured gap mixes genuine price differences with listings that were never comparable in the first place.
- Does Dhundo cover fitness equipment or only small accessories?
- Both, but the category leans towards accessories and consumables by volume. The occasional machine - a treadmill, an exercise cycle - sits at the top of the price band, well above the typical low-ticket item that makes up most of the classified set.
- Are these prices with delivery included?
- No. They are the listing prices as the store showed them. Delivery is added at the store's checkout, and on heavy items like weights and benches it can be a large part of the final cost.
